Yes, we had minus three degrees
Celsius two nights ago. Therefore, Shenpen is providing many warm sleeping
bags, thick jackets, warm hats and gloves to many earthquake victims. The
people were so grateful that some of them even hugged and kissed our Shenpen
helpers.
The financial situation is
getting worse and worse. Due to the blockage on the Indian border, hardly any
goods arrive in Kathmandu. Because of this, there is no cooking gas, and it is
getting increasingly difficult to get wood, so that some people have started to
cook with paper – on the roof or on the street. Also there is no electricity
for about ten hours a day, but this means that people can’t use electricity for
cooking or heat. Again, it’s the poorest of the poorest that suffers the most.
Shenpen will continue to try to
help as many people as possible.
