Many areas of relief work in Nepal are beyond the reach of common roads. Here, our volunteers are delivering vital supplies for shelter building by hand.

Sustainable living spaces are an important element in post-earthquake survival. Many settlements were left without adequate shelter following the 2015 earthquakes, and Shenpen has done much to alleviate this difficulty. Here, a team of volunteers brought building instructions and materials to an outlying community, and showed the community members how to construct a safe a durable shelter.

 Shenpen volunteers often work in areas that other groups cannot enter. In this photo, our volunteers begin to repair a part of terrain that prevented vehicles from delivering aid supplies to a hard-hit earthquake region.

When possible, Shenpen works to restore larger-scale access to areas restricted by quakes and landslides. In this photo, the community works together to free a trapped relief-work vehicle, while our hired bulldozer clears and smooths the path of more coarse debris.

Accidents happen! Our competent staff and volunteers are always well prepared for any emergency situation. In this picture, one of our monks tends to a wound received while transporting relief goods over rough terrain.
